The winning paper, Kors S, Hacker C, Bolton C, Maier R, Reimann L, Kitchener EJA, Warscheid B, Costello JL, Schrader M. (2022) Regulating peroxisome-ER contacts via the ACBD5-VAPB tether by FFAT motif phosphorylation and GSK3β in the Journal of Cell Biology, presents the first comprehensive molecular mechanism for the regulation of membrane contact sites between peroxisomes and the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and has implications for the regulation of other organelle contacts.
